Leading Retail Distributor, The Casino Group, Consolidates Back-up With LEGATO NetWorker

Overview The Casino Group is a leading retail distributor based in France with nearly 7,000 hypermarkets, supermarkets and smaller outlets in France and throughout the world employing approximately 100,000 people and working with more than 35,000 suppliers. Given the geographical spread of the group, Casino strove for a centralized backup solution in an open environment implemented to improve information protection and recovery and reduce hardware maintenance costs. Casino approached Scasicomp, a developer and integrator of secure storage and backup solutions, initially to carry out an audit to study its existing solution, analyze its current requirements and forecast what would be needed in the future. The audit delivered a forecast indicating the solution that best fitted Casino's business requirements - as well as its existing StorageTek hardware architecture - was one based on LEGATO NetWorker software from LEGATO Systems, Inc.
