Pricing and ATG Commerce
Overview In any online shopping experience there are a key elements: viewing items that are available sale, placing orders, and checking the status of order. One of the most important pieces of information that can be presented to a customer is price. How much will a customer have to pay for an item? What if that customer has a coupon? Can the customer’s employer negotiate a special price? This paper describes how ATG Commerce handles static and dynamic pricing, including promotions, coupons, and individually customized pricing. It is intended for engineers familiar with the pricing problem and who want to learn more about how ATG Commerce solves it. All factors of the price of an order including item, shipping, and tax, are discussed.
