Compliance with GASB 34 and 35 Guidelines

Overview In 1999, the Government Accounting Standards Board (GASB) issued Statements 34/35, requiring state and local governments, (including states, cities, towns, villages and special-purpose governments such as school districts and public utilities), to provide full accrual and new capital asset accounting. The statements were developed to make annual reports easier to understand and more useful to people who use governmental financial information to make decisions.
