Fast and Efficient Internal Networks with Unisys Enterprise Class Servers

Overview The University of Santiago de Compostela needed a cost-effective and time-efficient technology solution that would provide a manageable environment for handling all university financial and HR tasks. Unisys helped the University deploy a cluster of Unisys Enterprise Servers, each with eight Intel Pentium III 500MHz Xeon processors, designed for Microsoft Windows operating systems. An EMC disk storage subsystem was also added with the installation. Specific features that the University will benefit from include fast and uninterrupted access to administrative data, support of the University HR database, file-print server functions, and above all, business-critical system operation. The servers' performance guarantees virtually no downtime for the whole academic network.
