Overview With more than 27,000 employees worldwide, Atlanta-based First Data Corp. is a global leader in electronic commerce and payment services. To ensure that it could deliver secure transactions via smartcards, First Data needed to find a world-class e-security vendor who could provide a comprehensive trust software package, had a proven track-record and first-hand experience of handling large multi-national systems. First Data approached Baltimore Technologies because it was known as a global leader in e-security and had experience with large-scale smartcard deployments.
