The Scalability Story

Overview "Scalability" is a widely used and often misunderstood term. This paper explains scalability as experienced within a data warehouse and points to several unique characteristics of the Teradata® Database that allow scalability to be achieved. The paper addresses: scalability from the data warehouse perspective; characteristics that support linear scalability; linear scalability as data volume grows; linear scalability as concurrent users are increased; and examples of scalability with hardware expansion.
