Maximizing Business Performance Thrrough a Business Management Architecture
Overview
Every initiative a company pursues necessarily comprises two main phases the Planning Phase
and the Execution Phase. A sound strategy is needed before tactics can be successfully carried
out. For the purposes of this paper, activities in the Planning Phase, which are driven by the
overall company vision, include (but are not limited to) the ideation phase, review process,
consensus building, approval process, and establishment of accountability metrics. The
Execution Phase includes those practices typically associated with enterprise project and resource
management, such as detailed project planning and scheduling, resource modeling and allocation,
cost and activity tracking, collaboration, alerting, and reporting. By looking at the entire process
broken down in this manner, an enterprise can more easily identify and eliminate the
shortcomings that stifle the quest for maximum business performance.
