Corillian Corporation has Adopted the Microsoft .NET Framework and Visual Studio .NET.
Overview The decision to pursue a strategy based on Microsoft .NET was not automatic for Corillian. "We considered using an off-the-shelf solution, such as TIBCO ActivePortal, as well as some other Java-based solutions," says Chris Brooks, Chief Technology Officer, Corillian Corporation. "We felt that we would face integration, performance and scalability issues with those types of solutions. We came to the conclusion that what we really wanted to do was build our own solutions, keeping our technology truly proprietary. Not long ago, it seemed like a real big move for us, but the .NET Framework and Visual Studio .NET made it possible. We've proven that with a fairly small team, and in a short timeframe, we can get the highest quality product to market and maintain real control of our intellectual property."
