WCDMA Systems Interoperability Testing

Overview Today’s wireless networks demand more flexibility than ever before. Operators who are making the transition from second- (2G) to third-generation (3G) networks must adapt these networks for new types of traffic, new usage patterns and unpredictable growth. Because the Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA) standard enables a wide variety of new 3G system implementations, operators must be prepared to interconnect products from different vendors.

This paper focuses on the key issues involved in interoperability testing for WCDMA and Ericsson’s approach to ensuring successful network interoperability for multi-vendor WCDMA networks.
