Reliability in Outdoor Enclosures: Survival of the Fittest

Overview Outdoor conditions on our planet vary greatly. The buyer of cellular equipment needs to consider the regional climate along with the seasonal extremes that would be encountered at the installation site, to ensure long term durability. Most installations are destined for a particular region or country resulting in a cost effective, properly designed solution to fit the environment. Only in extreme cases are the installations near the Arctic Circle or on the equator. Designing one solution to fit a single environment on the planet results in an expensive solution, that in most cases would be over-designed. Within a region you must consider localized weather extremes that will be encountered such as a thunderstorm and in some cases hurricanes and debris propelled by high straight-line winds.
