Making the Grade
Overview As high school students in study hall explore their favorite web sites, a high school English teacher tries to enter attendance information. Her new web-based attendance tool is rendered useless while contending with the students’ traffic. Precious class time is wasted while both students and teacher wait for response. Elementary school students grow restless during a history lesson. Instead of passing notes to one another as past generations did, they use instant messaging to converse, paying scant attention to the teacher. Matters grow worse as students send each other electronic greeting cards. When the recipients open the cards, disruptive noises and music erupts.
