Direct-Access Arrangements are Crucial to Successful to Embedded-Modem Design

Overview TDK Semiconductor is a leader in the low and medium-speed modem IC market. In 1985, the K-Series of pin and function compatible single-chip modem ICs was introduced. Today, 1200 and 2400 bit/s embedded modems are expanding through new chip developments. We recently announced a significant expansion of our ‘all-in-one’ single-chip modem introduced in 1999, which combines all the controller (DTE) and data pump functions necessary to implement an intelligent V.22bis data modem. The newly released 3.3V 73M2901CL feature-rich set includes critical functions like Caller ID, blacklisting, parallel phone detect (Line-In-Use and Parallel-Pick-Up/Line-Seize), long space disconnect, inactivity timeout and programmable call progress.
