CD Testing: The Digital and Analog Sides

Overview There are several ways to measure what a CD-ROM reader's laser pickup "sees" as it reads data. The first are the digital tests, which detect errors in the data stream being read; analog tests are designed to detect problems with the physical structures of the pits of the media themselves.
