Microwave Radio Network Planning in 3G
Overview The introduction of 3G will have a signifi cant effect to cellular transmission (CT), which has to be taken into account in network planning. The increased capacity requirement will effect both the individual radio network links and the network topology. In current GSM networks BTS capacities are on average 0.5–1 Mbit/s while in 3G BTS capacities are in range of 2–10 Mbit/s.
