Workflow Security Considerations - White Paper
Overview A new technical area of work is normally started by the production of a White Paper, which is essentially a discussion document to identify alternative approaches. In the case of systems security, which is a pervasive topic potentially affecting all working groups, it is also important to scope work in other standardization bodies to achieve as much harmonization and adoption of other industry standards. This document is intended to stimulate discussion and identity a forward path for the incorporation of appropriate security services into the architecture and standards of the WfMC. This document summarizes a number of security services, which may be important within a workflow system and relates them to a generalized model identifying different security domains within a heterogeneous workflow environment. It then identifies areas of potential work for the WfMC, concentrating on Workflow interoperability between different organizational domains.
