Java Interoperability with Existing Code, V4R5 Update

Overview The IBM Application Framework for e-business provides the structure and methodologies, using open standards, to build platform-independent applications for e-business. There is an integration component to the Framework that transforms new types of requests into a form that can be handled by existing code. The Framework describes different methods of integration, typically called connectors.

Classes of application connectors are provided for the various types of legacy application access that are required. For instance, some applications will utilize directly callable APIs, some will take advantage of an existing messaging interface (such as data queues or MQSeries), some will be accessed through screen scraper technologies, and some will allow direct memory access to the application through DDS specifications.
