Quality of Service White Papers

SuperAgent and Citrix White Paper

Overview A centralized application-processing environment seeks to position most of the work of information processing at a single entity in the form of raw processing power, while distributed environments seek to spread information processing across an environment via communications links.

Citrix is a centralized application-processing architecture. It requires increased processing power on the server, while it reduces the bandwidth requirements of links between server and end user.

Response time issues in centralized application-processing environments are as difficult, expensive and time consuming to identify and resolve as such issues in client-server environments as both architectures involve the same issues – though in differing degrees. This paper will examine Citrix in the enterprise and a way to monitor the response times of the network and server in such an environment.
