Stratus ftServer Systems: Enhancing Software Reliability and Availability for Windows 2000

Overview Protecting server uptime — the percentage of time a system is available to serve users — has taken on unprecedented importance. Today organizations almost universally depend on computing systems to conduct business and deliver vital services, which has made continuous operation a mainstream computing requirement. Two related factors affect server uptime: how dependably the system processes applications, or reliability; and how effectively the system minimizes planned and unplanned down-time. A reliable and available server is engineered to prevent system outages from happening in the first place and to limit any interruption in operation that does occur, including interruptions for scheduled maintenance or restart time if the system is taken offline for any reason.
