Using Digital Signatures to Authorise Financial Transactions
Overview Digital signatures would appear to offer a convenient and secure alternative to traditional methods for authorising financial and other business transactions, since they can ensure authentication, integrity and non-repudiation. The Scotmid project staff at the University of St Andrews investigated the possible use of digital signatures to authorise Financial Accounts to make payments. The investigation identified the main issues that must be addressed before digital signatures can be employed with confidence.
