Digital Signatures and Certification Services Providers - What is the Legal Position?

Overview Although the law now declares digital signatures to be admissible in court, and although they have been clearly defined by legislation, and their reliability may be bolstered by the support of a certificate from an approved Certification Authority, these factors alone or in combination do not make them incontestable. The above guidelines make it clear that from a judicial point of view they must still be examined as to their reliability in the same way as any other piece of evidence.
