Overview The software industry is undergoing rapid technical and cultural change towards component based development to help solve its well documented quality and productivity problems. This is largely a result of developments in object technology and the Internet and represents a natural maturing of the industry that has already been witnessed (many years ago) in the hardware industry; for example, transistors, IC’s, circuit boards.
