Carrier Class Ethernet

Overview Carrier Class and Ethernet are both familiar, but traditionally separate, terms in the communications industry. Telecommunications equipment in the field is designed to meet a Carrier Class quality level, in contrast to commercial-grade quality of Ethernet equipment in the enterprise (office). The expansion of Ethernet applications outside the enterprise environment has created the need for “Carrier Class Ethernet (CCE)” equipment. This document:
