Name: Win32.Maldal.E

A mass-mailing worm with a destructive file deleting payload. Maldal.E is a worm which spreads via the e-mail system. The worm uses Microsoft Outlook in order to send itself out to all contacts found in the Address Book.

Maldal.E arrives attached to an e-mail where the Subject line is the computername of the infected PC that sent the message.

Maldal.E contains a destructive payload which searches for and deletes files with the following extensions: "com", "bat", "mdb", "xls", "doc", "lnk", "ppt", "jpg", "mpeg", "ini", "dat", “zip", "txt".

Additionally, the worm deletes files belonging to anti-virus packages as well as the whole “Program Files\Zone Labs\” directory.
