Overview Performance has become a mission-critical aspect of the System Administrator's job, with eCommerce becoming commonplace and consumers placing demands on the systems that provide services. Despite this growing requirement, performance analysis and tuning remains a mystery to many. In a UNIX environment, there are four common segments of a computer system that are most likely to be performance bottlenecks.
