At the time of writing Sophos has received just one report of this virus from the wild.

Description: Sophos Anti-Virus is capable of detecting a number of variants of the WM97/Footer Word macro virus family as WM97/Footer-Fam.

The majority of viruses in the WM97/Footer family conform to the following description.

These Word viruses attempt to overwrite existing footers or insert a new footer into all open Word documents, with the infected document's path and filename. For example, "C:\My Documents\Confidential\Secret Plans.doc".
