NetWorker® Power Edition Performance on a Windows NT Digital AlphaServer 8400 System

Overview This white paper discusses results from tests that were run with NetWorker Power Edition for Windows NT® Alpha running on a DIGITAL™ AlphaServer™ 8400 system. These tests were conducted in Bellevue, Washington by Digital EquipmentCorporation.
The testing goal was to verify that the system would perform effectively at high data rates for customers who have very large servers and want the cost effectiveness of a large number of medium-priced, high-performance tape drives. This study provides benchmark results for backup of various data types running on a DIGITAL AlphaServer 8400 system, in conjunction with DIGITAL TZ89 Digital Linear Tape (DLT) and DIGITAL Advanced Intelligent Tape (AIT) 8mm tape drives. The results were achieved using NetWorker Power Edition for Windows NT Alpha.
