Using Symlink to Install DB2 UDB to a Different File System on UNIX

Overview This paper describes how to use Symlink to install DB2 UDB to a file system of your choice (local or remote), and instructions for accessing DB2 code from other machines. This can be used when installing to the default path may be a problem in your environment. It can also be used to install DB2 to a file system that can be centrally maintained, supported, and accessed by other systems. It is intended for DB2 administrators or system administrators who need to install DB2 in such an environment.
