Overview
Rapid prototyping followed by technology retargeting provides a fast and cost-effective approach to analog system synthesis. Field-programmable analog arrays (FPAAs) enable rapid implementation of a function-compliant prototype, while technology retargeting converts the functional FPAA prototype to an ASIC. We first address the FPAA technology mapping problem. A novel structural approach based on hierarchical pattern matching and covering is employed to map the analog behavior onto the FPAA. We then address issues of technology retargeting and design reuse, and present our FPAA-ASIC retargeting strategy. We present experiments and a design example for FPAA technology mapping and re-targeting.
As organizations struggle to cope with the exponential growth of data, especially in the unstructured and decentralized file space, the urgency to gain better control, visibility and transparency of file...
Efficient built-in and external test strategies are becoming essential in MicroElectroMechanical Systems (MEMS), especially for high reliability and safety critical applications. To be realistic however, internal and external test must...
VHDL descriptions are widely used for digital circuits synthesis and verification. For complex mixed-signal ICs there is also the need of system-level design and simulation, and thus efforts are currently...
Symbolic model checking has become one of the most successful and reliable methods for formal verification as this verification technique works completely automatic. However, model checking tools suffer from the...
Memory intensive applications require considerable arithmetic for the computation and selection of the different memory access pointers. These memory address calculations often involve complex (non) linear arithmetic expressions which have...
In this paper, we present an efficient yet accurate inductance extraction methodology and also apply it to clocktree RLC extraction. We first show that without loss of accuracy, the inductance...
This IDC White Paper analyzes the latest technology and market developments in the x86 server space, which has been significantly impacted by the spread of virtualization solutions and the rise of energy issues. The paper puts AMD's latest 45nm quad-core AMD Opteron Processor, codenamed "Shanghai," in context in this environment and analyzes its opportunities in the European market.
VMware Infrastructure transforms disaster recovery byproviding you rapid, reliable and cost-effective disasterrecovery:? Makes disaster recovery affordable through consolidationsavings and re-use of existing servers for your disasterrecovery site? Provides rapid recovery that is hardware independent, simpler to backup and recover, and enables quickprovisioning of your disaster recovery site? Simplifies the ability to test thereby enhancing disasterrecovery plan reliability
When deploying new software configuration management (SCM) tools, implementers sometimes focus on perfecting fine-grained activities, while unwittingly carrying forward poor, large-scale practices from their previous jobs or tools. The result is a well-executed blunder. This paper promotes some high-level best practices that reflect the authors' experiences in deploying SCM.
