Safety of Nuclear Power Reactors
Overview Safety is also a prime concern for those working in nuclear plants. Radiation doses are controlled by use of remote handling for many operations in the core of the reactor, by shielding, and by limiting workers' time in areas with significant radiation levels. Continuous monitoring of individual doses and the work environment backs up these procedures, and ensures very low radiation doses compared with those in other industries.
