Achieving High-Level Windows NT Scalability with Solid State Disk
Overview
The real-time performance of solid state disk significantly increases the scalability of Windows NT servers. SSD can boost the I/O performance of Windows NT by 10 to 20 times, improving existing single or multi-processor NT system performance without adding additional CPU or memory resources. SSD also raises NT server I/O performance into mid/high-end UNIX server range without extensive system upgrades.
Quantum's SSDs are part of the company's best-of-breed high performance line of storage products that also includes DLT™ tape drives and mini-libraries and a wide range of hard disk drives that satisfy the most demanding Windows NT application requirements. SSD is ideal for the most demanding transaction environments such as relational databases and data warehousing, World Wide Web and Intranet servers, and RAID storage subsystems as well as high-bandwidth applications such as video and engineering animation.
