Overview
The European chemical industry supports the need for a review and an improvement in the existing systems for chemicals management and for the development of a new strategy on chemicals policy. The challenge faced by governments, industry and other stakeholders is to ensure that the chemicals control mechanism is developed and organised in a way that can be effectively implemented in an agreed timeframe with the available resources. This can only be achieved through a better co-ordination of procedures, a redefinition of requirements and an understanding of what further needs to be done between all the parties involved.
