When to Use Fibre Channel Instead of Parallel SCSI in a RAID System
Overview
Raidtec Corporation manufactures both Fibre Channel (FC) and Parallel SCSI (Ultra SCSI) controllers and RAID subsystems. And, we are happy to supply either technology to our customers. However, the question is rightly asked. When is Fibre Channel the technology of choice for a RAID system?
The main criteria for choosing any RAID system over another RAID system fall into five categories:
Performance
Reliability
Cost
Installation
Flexibility.
