GINA: The Introduction of Object-Oriented Technologies in Business-Critical Environments

Overview Deutsche Telekom AG, in a collaboration project with Siemens Business Services, converted its network management system to object-oriented technology. GINA, the object-oriented middleware platform from SBS, is a central component of the architecture. With GINA, Deutsche Telekom realized a client/server application in a heterogeneous environment which integrates almost seamlessly into the existing IT environment and permits easy migration from legacy applications. IRONMAN is only the first step in Deutsche Telekom's strategy to modernize its IT environment. DT and SBS signed an agreement relating to the further development of GINA which underlines the importance of GINA as a technological platform for Deutsche Telekom AG.
