Overview The MicroSpec is designed to be operated by a laptop computer. The user interface software was designed by our collaborators at NeuroDyne, Inc. (Cambridge, MA) and shows the graphical user interface (GUI) and the measured output of the MicroSpec when looking at the flame from a lab burner fueled by MAPP gas (a mixture containing liquefied petroleum gas and methylacetylene-propadiene).NASA (JPL) has also supported investigation of MicroSpec as a potential diagnostic tool on planetary rover missions.
