Using DSDM with Prince2

Overview This White Paper is primarily aimed at project managers. For them, it provides clear and concise information and guidance on the specific areas of each method that will require tailoring to their project/organisation characteristics. The philosophies and approaches of PRINCE2 and DSDM have much in common. As a consequence, it is possible to run DSDM projects under PRINCE2 without major conflict. To gain maximum benefit and synergy when doing this, it is important to avoid duplication of effort and increased bureaucracy by merging products and roles where indicated rather then duplicating them. The basic principle is to use each method to address the areas that it alone defines (primarily project management in the case of PRINCE2 and primarily development in the case of DSDM). The overlapping areas need to be handled with care, based on the guidance in section 3 of this White Paper.
