Polymer Composite Connectors Defy Conventional Wisdom

Overview Polymer connectors have been viewed as the lower-performance, lower-cost sibling of ceramic connectors. With improvements in manufacturing and materials, polymer connectors have caught up with other connectors, providing TIA-compliant performance while retaining cost advantages. Fiber Optic cable Networks need reliable interconnections. Every fiber optic connector uses one of three ferrule materials: polymer composite, ceramic or stainless steel.
