Brokering Marketable Network Resources Using Autonomous Agents
Overview We present an approach to resource distribution in a scenario where networks are competing for custom through price control. A system architecture is described, within which agents representing network resources and customers negotiate with one another to achieve the best deal on each part. Customer agents’ request specified connections and required content of their counterpart system agents, which in turn compete to deliver the most cost-effective service. Initial experiments that examine this behaviour are presented, evaluating the dynamics present within such a trading scenario. It is shown that through the use of agents, the customer can indirectly negotiate for service with the provider offering the best cost to product quality relationship.
