VMEbus Basics

Overview The VMEbus is a 32-bit bus that is widely used worldwide in industrial, commercial and military applications. An abundance of VMEbus cards are available to perform a wide range of tasks, from digital image processing to disk controllers. The VMEbus supports multiple bus masters and high data transfer rates. Most VMEbus cards are configured via a combination of hardware jumpers, card-specific software configuration, and setting parameters in non-volatile memory.
