Overview This white paper looks at the whole concept of the Active Directory service in the Microsoft Windows 2000 operating system and the idea of building the forest, the trees, the domains, and so forth. The most important thing to remember is to think before you build. When you plan your migration to Windows 2000, you've got to build in the time to think about how you're going to implement Active Directory. The ramifications of your decisions are going to be much more far reaching than they would be with a number of different groups that could run stand alone if they needed to.
