The AutoSys/Adapter for R/3
Overview The R/3 Applications suite has a built-in batch job scheduling tool called the SAP Scheduler. This provides basic scheduling functionality for SAP users. The challenge is to seamlessly integrate the AutoSys scheduler with the SAP Scheduler, while at the same time, leveraging all of the functionality that exists in AutoSys and the SAP Scheduler. By doing so, users enjoy the benefits of a centralized scheduling system, a single point-of-control, common operator interface, cross platform and cross application dependencies, while at the same time, leveraging the SAP Scheduler and its tight integration with the R/3 Applications suite. The AutoSys/Adapter for R/3 is an add-on product to AutoSys. It provides out of the box seamless integration between AutoSys and SAP R/3. The Adapter requires no changes to SAP R/3, and uses existing SAP R/3 interfaces such as Remote Function Calls. The Adapter was architected and designed to provide the same level of fault tolerance and reliability as the AutoSys base product. All of the AutoSys/Adapters share a common design and implementation, ensuring compatibility and consistency across the entire AutoSys product line.
