Architecture of Applix Enterprise Mobile Processing Environment

Overview The Applix Enterprise suite of customer interaction software (CIS) solutions includes an optional mobile processing environment that empowers remote members of your organization with full application accessibility in a stand-alone hardware environment. Since different providers of mobile sales force automation, customer service, and CIS software applications have chosen different technologies to support the means by which data is transmitted between an organization’s corporate database and mobile clients, questions and concerns have arisen over the strengths and weaknesses of each technology. This paper will discuss the two predominant architectures of mobile processing environments, and will discuss the similarities and differences in terms of data transmission and resynchronization.
