Printing the New Euro Currency Symbol
Overview Beginning 1 January 1999, eleven European countries will begin to operate in the new monetary unit, the Euro . The transition is expected to be gradual, with voluntary participation beginning 1/1/99 and progressing until the actual Euro currency is available 1 January 2002, at which time all participating entities and countries within the European Economic Community will be using the Euro. Currently, conversion tables are available and it is expected that many private entities will begin operating in both local and Euro currencies. In fact, there is currently usage of the Euro symbol as well as Euro unit pricing.
