Network File System Backup Benchmarks
Overview The amount of data that must be protected in a typical global 1000 corporation’s network continues to grow at incredible rates. In fact, the average amount of data per server is growing 60% year over year according to Strategic Research. This growth in data, along with the disbursement of data within the enterprise has caused IT managers to look at recentralization. This, however, can take two forms. One is the actual centralization of servers to form glass houses while the other is to centralize the administration of key systems management functions, of which storage management is one of if not the most important. Storage management is a term that defines a series of processes related to backup, recovery, reporting and archiving of corporate data.
